When Punk Goes….
So I’m listening to a few of the songs from the “When Punk Goes Pop Vol 1 Comp”. They were pretty decent songs on there. Some really good bands too. The 2nd “WPGP” is just meh. Some of the songs again are flawless and well the others could’ve never been made. I will say some of the songs seem like the bands just rushed it to get a cool Pop cover. Kinda sad.
The ones that are good are ones I’m sure songs these guys/girls have worked on fairly often. Gotta make it worthy. Acts like Mayday Parade absolutely crush their covers. Bands like “Of Mine and Men” and “Miss May I” are a sad excuse of music.
Asking Alexandria ruined Akons “Right Now”. If I were Akon i’d find them and cut their heart out. Its awful. Honestly anything they do is bad but this is just mean really. Honestly I’m pretty sure several of these shitty bands are just writing these covers with each other because the chorus is sung but the rest is filled with bass drops and their “scream/sing/tough/shitty” vocals.
Sorry I’m getting on a rant when I shouldn’t. That will be later. Trust me. I’ll trash them all.
I guess in the end what I’m trying to say is if your going to make a fun little comp with these fairly decent bands then have a blast, but you should also be much more picky about how the covers go. We get that you like Justin Timberlake and Brittney Spears. We get it.
A few of my good friends were tired of all the stupid scene shit now running around and with their love of lifting weights and hardcore decided to get pumped the fuck up and slam down.

Pokemon Nationals Ended With A Whimper
Justin Sanchez won Pokemon Nationals with Magnezone/Yanmega. Realy expected to see Magnezone but Tanmega has slipped into being a badass little card. Excited since the price went from $12 to $55 on some sites. I’ve pulled I think 13. Traded all but one. Sad.
So this next week I’ll be getting my box of Triumphant just to dig for Magnezone and Yanmega just for sale and trade fodder. I doubt I’ll play either deck but they sound awesome.
Next year all of “Team Banned From The Hot Tub” will be going as we’ve already started figuring things out. With a decent job I can save up stupid money for this. I will win.
My only problem is I hear it ended based on coin flips. Kinda bummed by that.
Im scared of dying alone…
I’m pretty scared of dying alone but not in the way you think. I’m honestly scared of falling down the steps and breaking my neck, or a murderer breaks in and kills me (well i guess i’d die with a murderer), or something along the same lines It honestly freaks me out.

Over a year ago I jokingly went to see if Max Bemis of Say Anything had his “Song Shop” open in which you pay him a small fee and the first few people to get it then get a song about whatever they want, you get to pick the entire thing. Its something cool and I don’t care what you think. Sure its giving him a few extra bucks and as long as he keeps recording music of any kind I’m all for it.
Anyway, I never got my song. Days, Months, and finally over a year went by. I felt robbed. I only paid a little bit for the song but still felt ripped. I decided to add him on Twitter with hope of hearing something about a delay or something. I had forgotten we’d been friends on there for months and finally got up the nerve to say something to him about it.
“Hey Max, sorry to bother you but I never received my song I got well over a year ago. I’m not mad but feel I got cheated out of my money. I’m not sure what the problem was but I just thought I’d let you know”
He replied less than a min later: “Hey Cullen! There is no way that should be the case. Must have been an error with the mail. What is the email you used to order it?” and “Thanks sir! Check your email at the kingcullen email in a minute or two and we’ll work this out there. So sorry about this.”
Very cool right? I thought so. We exchanged a few emails and they had the order placed but never given to him through MerchDirect. He seemed just as annoyed as I was honestly.We talk on and off for the next 3 days on Twitter and email just about random stuff. It was like a long distance penpal who happens to be a rock star.
A few weeks later I get another email telling me to check my email that night, so ofcorse I did. In it was a new song he wrote for me (just me) and a letter once again apologizing for the mix up and that I can meet up for tickets and such later on to any Say Anything or private shows. I’m pretty pumped. I’m cool with whatever they want to do honestly and Max was very much a professional.
So heres the song about me he made for me. Sounds kinda Egotistical but fuck it. Hope you enjoy it.

There really arnt enough storms around here this year. I dont need to lose power just have a nice Thunderstorm.
I awoke to Thunder. I loved it. I went back to sleep. I think I like sleep more than thunder. Yeah, I do.
